Refrigerant, not evaporative: the spot coolers on this page use a compressor with refrigerant (R22/R410A). They are portable air conditioners for a single spot, not evaporative coolers, and they are described as such throughout this site.

The DH-A-27B is the smallest refrigerant spot cooler in the family: 2700 watts of cooling for one workstation, one machine operator, or one small room.

At 56 kilograms on casters, this is a unit one person can move to the heat. Its job is a spot, not a hall: put it where the person or the machine is, aim the cooled air there, and give its warm air somewhere to go if you choose a ducted variant. Single, double and triple-duct variants share this family — say which one you need, because the duct count changes the installation, not the cooling capacity.

Running the numbers

At 1050 watts input, 8 hours a day is 8.4 kilowatt-hours by multiplication of the stated power figure — the running-cost shape of the smallest spot unit. At 4.8 amps, the circuit check is straightforward, but check it at the exact position anyway: spot coolers get moved to wherever the heat is, and the circuit at the new position is the one that matters, not the circuit where the unit was demonstrated. The 6-litre tank is condensate handling, not evaporative water supply — a different job from the duct units' 300-litre tanks, and not to be confused with it.

What to put in your inquiry for this model

Siting the DH-A-27B

Site this unit at the spot, not near it. A spot cooler cools the air around it, so every metre between the unit and the person or machine is cooling spent on empty floor. Put it beside the workstation, aim the discharge at the occupant, and give the warm air a path away — out a door, up a duct variant's route, anywhere but back into the spot. At 56 kilograms on casters it moves easily, which is an invitation to re-site it whenever the work moves. Take the invitation: a spot cooler that follows the heat is doing its job, and one left where the heat used to be is not.

Keeping the DH-A-27B running

The running maintenance on a spot cooler is short, and it is worth writing into the routine rather than discovering it. Clean the washable filter on a schedule, not when airflow visibly drops — a dirty filter makes the unit work harder for less cooling, and the filter is washable precisely so that cleaning is cheap. Empty the condensate tank before it fills, and check the casters when the unit moves to a new position, because a spot cooler that cannot roll smoothly stops being portable in practice. None of this needs a service contract. All of it needs somebody owning the routine, and the cheapest time to assign that somebody is before the unit arrives.
